The Base The robot's base itself is a simple, heavily geared down, caterpillar driven base. This was fairly straightforward to construct, and provides movement along a single axis to enable the robot to position itself to drop a piece. In order to make sure the counter falls down a column, after moving to the correct column and dropping the piece, the base moves left and right a little to 'jiggle' the pice into the column if it's not perfectly aligned.
