This old banking hall has been converted into a bustling bar brasserie seating around 150, and a smaller, grander restaurant where fine Michelin starred cuisine is offered. Chef of both restaurant and brasserie is Herbert Berger, who's cooking has been famous and much lauded in this country for many years. Typical dishes: Brasserie - saffron risotto with red mullet, cumberlans sausage & mash, seared scallops with tapenade. Restaurant - seared foie gras withbraised savoycabbage, apple & calvados confit, roast turbot with woodland mushrooms, herb ragout7 lobster essence.

Small, intimate, romantic, with just nine tables, set back from a busy Bow Road, in a residential area. Open from Tuesday through to Saturday, from 7pm onwards. The price is dependent on when you make the reservation. Any starter plus main course starts at £13.95 if booked a week or more in advance; standard booking is £16.95. However, if customers arrive without a booking the price rises to 18.95. Dessert is available at £3.95 when booked or £4.95 if unbooked. All prices are inclusive and nett. There are no extra charges. The only extra's are in the portions. Wine is priced at £6.50 per half litre, up to £33.95 for the premium champagne. Coffee, which is freshly ground, is available for £1.50, per unlimited serving, when booked, or £2.00 unbooked. All customers are offered free postcards of the restaurant which they can send anywhere in the world free gratis. Also, all customers are invited to have their photograph taken free of charge.
