The word 'Kiasu' in the Chinese Hokkien dialect means 'afraid to be second best'. In line with this, in Kiasu, you will find a restaurant that uses only the best ingredients, imported from around the World when neccessary, to ensure each dish is authentic and according to original recipes.

Nestled in the rather unappealing Hanway street is this unassuming looking Japanese restaurant. I'm glad I plucked up the courage to visit it, as it was a very ejoyable experience. There's a good range of food on offer, with the usual sushi-sashimi, and loads of other less readily available Japanese dishes that are definitely worth sampling. Prices are very reasonable for Japanese cusisine of this standard. It's got to be good because it's always full of homesick Keishain. Go chiso sama deshita!
