First (only?) trendy Alsatian restaurant in London. Décor is interesting - a cross between log cabin and minimalist canteen. Specialising in Tartes Flambees which are like extremely thin square pizzas but with crème fraiche instead of tomato. A good choucroute (mixed meats and saurkraut) is offered for the very hungry carnivore. Service (possibly because we went a few nights after opening) was exceptional (bordering on the desparate!), with the waitress actually buying our first two rounds of drinks! One of the few places in London to serve the wonderful Kölsch beer properly.

My tempura vegetables where soggy batter, and the "reduced balsamic sauce" tasted more like hoi sin from a bottle and completey overwhelmed the salmon.

A rather unreal restaurant, in terms of both service and decor. The food is a combination of European, Pacific and Asian, and is usually well prepared. The decor is minimalist, which can make for an uncomfortable atmosphere, but the real thing is the waiting staff - they are horrendous, especially the French ones, with an arrogant, superior attitude. I would not eat there again.
