The Wolseley is a cafe and restaurant in the grand European tradition located in St James' on Picadilly.
The Grade II listed 1921 building is the work of William Curtis Green, the architect of The Dorchester Hotel, and was commissioned by Wolseley Cars as their London showroom.
The magnificient interiors and particularly the original Japanese lacquer screens and friezes were adorned and added to by Barclays Bank when they acquired the premises in 1929.

And it certainly is grand! Mssrs Corbin and King, formerly of the Ivy and Sheeky's, are attempting to create a grand Viennese style dining experience, with appropriate food served continuously throughout the day; from breakfast through elevenses, lunch, to "Kaffe und Kuchen" time, high tea, dinner and supper.
It's certainly the restaurant de jour, and it's pretty difficult to get in at the moment, but you're almost guaranteed to catch a few celebs at dinner.

A cuisine of beautiful colours, laid out in four chapters : vegetables and vegetarians, French touch Mediterranean influences, world food and of course, deserts.

No-frills 'non-destination' noodle restaurant which started the ramen craze. Queues can be long but you can get a drink and read the menu while waiting. No lingering after the meal though. Fast food for the more discerning.

Situated next door to the impossible to book Ivy, West Street offers a completely different atmosphere. Stark minimalist modern decor with much use of heavily grained dark woods make the interior very 'now'. There is a formal restaurant upstairs, a brasserie on the ground floor, and a large bar in the basement. Food is mainly modern Italian with a range of pizze and more substantial offerings.
